Life Insurance Funeral Insurance Plans

The marketing of “funeral expenses insurance” or “funeral plans” often makes it hard for consumers to distinguish between this type of insurance and life insurance. Some of the problems with funeral plans/insurance were highlighted in research compiled in 2011 by the Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association of NSW (CPSA) titled “The $140,000 Funeral: Pitfalls of Funeral Insurance”.

Life Insurance Income Protection

Income Protection insurance provides an income stream should you become unable to work due to an injury or sickness. Benefits are paid monthly, not as a lump sum. The amount of cover is restricted normally to 75% of your gross salary. Premiums are tax deductible.
