2019 represents a year of milestones for AIA.
The AIA Group celebrates a 100 year history, having been established back in 1919 by American Cornelius Vander Starr in Shanghai, China. Listed in 2010 on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the AIA Group now operates in 18 countries across the Asia-Pacific and has 32 million policyholders.
Claiming that AIA is “100 years’ young”, Group Chief Executive and President, Mr Ng Keng Hooi looks forward to the next 100 years. He reflects that “As we position AIA for another century of growth and success, our purpose of helping people live Healthier, Longer, Better Lives could not be more relevant.”
Central to this goal in Australia is AIA Vitality, AIA’s health and well-being program. Launched in Australia in 2014 AIA is celebrating five years of helping over 168,000 Australians to understand and improve their health by offering incentives such as shopping rewards, savings on gym memberships and discounts on their life insurance.
“Since introducing AIA Vitality, we’ve been able to transform the role that we play in our customers’ lives and in society, from simply being a payer of claims, to a partner in their ongoing health and well-being,” according to Damien Mu, Chief Executive of AIA Australia and New Zealand.
To celebrate their milestones, AIA have announced some exciting new offers for customers.
New customers taking out policies from 16th September 2019 may be eligible for a range of benefits including:
- Annual policy fee of $85.60 waived for the first 2 years of the policy
- Increased Vitality Discount in first year of 17.5% for Life, TPD and Trauma insurance policies
- For clients aged 35 and over, an additional first year discount of 7.5% and second year 5% discount on Life, TPD and Trauma insurance policies
AIA has also announced some exciting changes to the Vitality Virgin Australia flight benefit. Virgin Getaway (sale) fares are now eligible for the Vitality Cashback of up to 50%. From early September eligible flights will include all flights to and from Los Angeles, including Delta flights. (Please note that an AIA Vitality Health Check needs to have been completed within the last 12 months and other conditions met for the status-based cashback to apply)
