Two life insurance companies, TAL and OnePath, have announced this week that they will waiver insurance premiums for farmers impacted by drought.

TAL is offering a six-month premium waiver to farmers in drought affected areas of New South Wales and Queensland. To be eligible farmers must qualify for the Federal Government’s Farm Household Allowance. Customers can call or email the TAL customer service centre or contact their adviser to apply for the waiver. Applications must be received before 30 November 2018.

The TAL Group Chief Executive and Managing Director Brett Clark said “This support will ensure that farmers in drought affected areas and their families can maintain the life insurance cover they need and provide some financial relief during this difficult time.”

ANZ owned insurer OnePath

ANZ owned insurer OnePath has also announced that it will waive two months premiums for any farming customers who are struggling financially. This includes those in rural and regional towns providing services to the farming community.

Customers with a OnePath policy can contact their adviser to arrange a two-month premium waiver. OnePath have indicated that in cases of severe financial difficulty they will consider extending the waiver beyond two months.

Insurance Watch customers who wish to take advantage of one of these offers should Contact Us and we will arrange the premium waiver with TAL or OnePath.
