		"Interactions with them have been easy although the initial sign up seemed complicated and long due to so much information being reviewed. I have not had to make a claim but (as with all insurance) I fear there will always be a loophole that will mean I don't get my benefit. I do hope if it is ever needed the process will feel like they are on my side.."

		"I'm about to be financially ruined because my income protection is not being fairly calculated, I was two months into a high paying fulltime position and was injured in a not at fault motor vehicle accident. My employer graciously continued my employment on light duties with a $50k pay reduction. Resolution Life calculated my pre disability income over a 12-month prior period, where I was self-employed and doing my best to pay myself the minimum taxable personal income as the business paid for most of my personal expenditures, vehicles, phone, internet, fuel, hobbies via advertising write offs etc. In short, Resolution Life will not recognize my salary amount at time of injury and have opted to find the lowest possible pre disability income amount, with respect to my business and personal exertion within my business. Research has shown me that the industry standard would place my income in a category of variable income meaning looking back up to 3 years of earning and also future lost earnings. If this was done my pre disability income calculation would be 3x higher than the figure resolution life has come up with and my monthly insurance cover would have protected me against going bankrupt. I insured myself for a required figure and paid premiums on the amount of insurance cover for over 10 years only to be told, sorry we at Resolution Life are going to pay you an amount that's less than half of what I'm actually insured for. I have come to find out this goes directly against advice of APRA to insurers. APRA say it clearly 'APRA considers it imperative that claim payments should be consistent with the principle of indemnity, thereby avoiding moral hazard as far as possible' Principle of Indemnity is defined as 'Indemnity is a guarantee to restore the insured to the position he or she was in before the uncertain incident that caused a loss for the insured. The insurer (provider) compensates the insured (policyholder)' If anyone has personal insurance with these guys (previously AMP) take my advice and Lawyer up straight away!."

		"Easy over the phone process. Did not make us get medicals. On a direct debit system. Have not made a claim yet thankfully, so not sure how painless the payout process is. The cost of insurance does rise significantly once exceed 50 years of age but it still gives peace of mind. Would definitely recommend AMP as it's also a well reputable organisation.."

		"The premiums charged by AMP for my income protection policy after I I turned 50 were pretty shocking. In 2020 I paid $17,000 for 1 year's cover. If you think that's bad - and it is - you'll think I'm pulling your leg when I tell you what they quoted me for income protection cover for 2021. I assure you this is no joke, and it should be the subject of an investigation. The annual premium quoted by AMP in February of this year was THIRTY THOUSAND DOLLARS. I kid you not: AMP quoted me a premium of $30,000 for 1 year of income protection insurance. Just to clarify, I am not on an exorbitant salary - I earn $114,000 per annum. But AMP intended to charge me 27% of my gross annual income for income protection insurance. I am in good health and have never made a claim against my income protection policy. I refused to pay that ridiculous figure and made an application to my new super fund to accept a transfer of my AMP policy. The insurer for my super fund accepted the transfer of insurance without question and has advised me that the annual premium for my income protection insurance will now be $3,412. The premium charged by my new insurer - for the same level of cover I had with AMP - is 9 times less than AMP were going to slug me. I have lodged a complaint with AMP but have not yet received a reply. I wanted to report this to the insurance ombudsman but they don't deal with complaints about fees or premiums. This outrageous conduct needs to be exposed.."

		"Been with this insurer for over 25 years. Policy is okay. Access to info and customer service when things change (like payment method, beneficiaries etc) is ridiculously poor. Unhelpful, refused to correct errors and completely ignored emails asking to confirm if issues resolved. They even send letters threatening to cancel the policy when in fact THEY have made the error! If you're shopping around, stay away from AMP. Not worth the anxiety.."

		"Initially it took a lot of time to get my claim processed. I was not happy that they wanted my entire medical record which I refused to provide. However they then did my claim based on my doctors and lab reports. I was happy and they continued to pay me. They tried to get me to go back to work and provided some support which was not really helpful. However I did manage to get back to work part time finding work for myself at a company that was supportive of me and my disability. AMP continued to pay me partial payments based on the income I received till the end of the policy at age 60. I was happy that I took insurance nearly 15 years prior as I would have really struggled without this insurance. Overall AMP was very good. Thy can improve their processes to help people who are distressed at the time they need the protection.."

I actually don't have an 'evate' policy but no mention of 'stepped” policy. Do not deal with this company. Outrageous. Greedy. My biggest concern in life is that I have no relatives to bury me and finalise my affairs if I do not have the money at the time. So this policy gave me immediate security as a friend will pay expenses, and she is the recipient of the insurance. I suffer from acute anxiety. I rang the company for an explanation to complain and because I was upset and because of anticipated increases in the future I said I cannot afford to live long and asked if they paid out on suicide. Firstly tongue in cheek, but I did get upset. Next thing I had a call saying they had sent someone around. While still on the phone it was a 6'4 ' 20 year old policemen, and an older one was standing behind him. It was a welfare check. I said I was hurrying to go out. The asked where I was going and a lot of questions wanting names and addresses of friends, the code of my key lock. They also said they had the power to break down my door if I didn’t let them in. I was half dressed. I made a complaint about the way I was treated, and anxiety naturally intensified making the situation worse. As a counsellor, I would have known there was no way aggressive behaviour would have achieved a positive result. Unforgiveable."

		"Terrible experience have been paying the premium for 6 years now I am injured have provided them all the relevant information and reports over a month ago they are dragging the claim out and putting me under financial duress and giving me false information and not returning phone calls when they are telling me they will. Dont think that paying the money all seems well. Once the claim process starts they are one of the most difficult companies I have ever dealt with they do not care about their customers or their situations. I never asked to go to work and get injured and have turn my world upside down. At the time I thought everything will be ok that why I have insurance. I wrong I was.."

		"We have had life insurance and TPD policies with AMP for 15 years, with zero contact from them or their advisors. Upon trying to review those policies we have been met with nothing but complete incompetence and unprofessionalism . We have spend hours on hold on the phone, and they have not once phoned us back after continually promising to do so. If they are this hard to do so when we are trying to review/ upgrade our policy, I can only imagine how hard they would be to deal with if we ever needed to make a claim. Sorry, they're just an utter disgrace- look elsewhere.."

		"I became incapacitated in 2001 // I made claim with AMP after failing to recover in early 2002. AMP's Chief Medical Officer advised claim could be backdated (subject to medical reports) to onset of illness. This then took almost 8 years to resolve. AMP paid me a $1100 per moth less than their letters stated I would receive. This let to tons of ignored correspondence with a constantly changing claims assessor who always had no record of previous documentation. AMP sent an interviewer to see me in 2004. The interview was taped, the interviewer transcribed the tape and the transcription in no way resembled the recording. I challenged AMP on this but was told that no one at AMP had time to look at this. I engaged a solicitor and AMP eventually backed down. Having failed to obtain a reason to stop my payments with a dodgy interviewer AMP then sent me to Sydneys's most notorious hired gun doctor. This doctor was named in The Australian Newspaper in an article entitled 'cash for comment' AMP used this report to stop my payments. I challenged them again and was eventually re-instated but it took many months. I was a hospital patient at the time they stopped my payments yet they had failed to realise this. I had provided full details of hospitals, doctors , dates etc. During the time of non payment I got so far behind in other debts etc (including my mortgage) that I lost my home. Since this time they have occasionally put me under surveillance and I have be come reclusive. I dread going out incase a photo turns up on social media of me having a life. Because my employment involved driving a vehicle I no longer put any petrol etc on my credit card as AMP monitor my bank statements etc. The number of reports they request is ridiculous and when a doctor's report requests assistance or information it is diligently ignored. AMP constantly apply an annual CPI premium increase but do not increase my payments. They do however send me a document that says they will. I have lodged a 35 page complaint with their complaints department and am awaiting some sort of response. I have asked them to compensate me for all the things they have done that have had a negative impact on my life. There is more to my story but if you have read this far and seen the 7.30 report on ABC 11/07/2017 you will most likely avoid AMP by the widest berth possible.."

		"My claim was made in November and am yet to receive an outcome as AMP have not been able to follow up and get the information needed. Communication with me is pathetic. My case manager said a cheque was sent to my GP which was not received. I have to actively followup with AMP for them to take action. 2 weeks later a new cheque has still not been posted to my GP. I would assume that if doctors have not responded, AMP need to followup and inform the claimant of the delay instead in my case, action is only taken when I contact AMP. This is despite me asking them to email me if they have not had a response. I will hesitate to recommend AMP to anyone as they are not compassionate and are not there when you need the help.."

		"I have been with AMP for over 40 years. Ive had two short term illness claims over that period and now facing a third with diagnosed Depression and mild CFS. After much investigation, AMP took three months to accept my ill health, paying me after the first eight weeks since October last year. Im still financially supported by AMP and its been a long road without signs of recovery but AMP now are making it very difficult for me to continue under their changing and demanding requirements. The insurer has every right to know my health condition in order for my insurance cover to continue as a supportable income for me. But now its become a battle with trying to supply information that is out of my control. My AMP acting agent has now informed me that my Psychologist Counselor has refused to release (personal) counselling information which would will compromise my ongoing insurance support, even through I have given my authority for release of documentation. Apparently, this is due to a legal policy and Code of Ethics relating to Client confidentiality. And unfortunately for me, AMP can use this legal loophole and tact as to stop my income protection. I some how knew that AMP would find a way not to payout. I just only wish they told me how difficult they where going to make my life before paying all that money over the hard working 45 years. It really shows how serious they where going to be in supporting my later years of poor health, its about taking our money and not giving the services we paid for. I have lost trust in AMP and for what they represent.."

		"Overall I considered that AMP offered very good coverage with the backing of a very strong financial position. Coverage was very comprehensive however it was not the least expensive available. I was also paying a financial adviser service fees for the annual renewal, whilst they may have provided the initial advice, they no longer are offering anything noteworthy and yet are receiving financial benefits from the continuation of the policy.."

		"After having income protection for my profession as a theatre nurse for 20 years and paying approximately $110,000 in premiums, I have been knocked back on my claim (I have been diagnosed with narcolepsy and deemed unfit to work) on the grounds that my photography hobby is a registered business, even though it has never made a profit (and it has nothing to so with my policy for nursing). It has been over 12 months since I've made my claim and had no income. I've had to sell my house and buy a smaller dwelling with my daughter and her family just to survive. I've recently been approved for a disability pension by centre link and back-payed for 12 months (only a small amount that barely covers bills) but AMP is still refusing to pay me (despite being deemed disabled). Originally they told my financial adviser they would pay but it would take time and they were just working out how much,but then a year later they said they had decided not to pay and that I am not able to claim if I am 'able to work whether paid or unpaid' capacity (this is despite the fact that my policy was about my work as a nurse and nothing to do with my hobby of photography). The entire time I have been waiting for a reply I am being forced to pay the $900 per month premium or they will cancel the policy (which I am paying with my savings). This is where I am at currently and am I writing in the desperate hope that no other Australians are fooled into taking out a policy or having anything to to with AMP and I am hoping that more people will stand against them. They seem to stall until they find some crazy loop hole and force you to pay premiums while you wait for them to find another. AMP has destroyed my life and I urge anyone else who has found this to step forward.."

		"I had a sudden catastrophic illness in 2012 which led to 9 moths not working and claims against my trauma, income and business expenses policies. AXA (now rebranded as AMP) were actually very good in dealing with the claim except for the initial processing of the claim despite all paperwork being lodged in a timely manner. Apart from being a long time (over 1 month) there was very poor communication considering my situation at the time. There was an initial lack of any empathy or understanding. It is quite important that assessors who actually have the initial contact with clients are trained in appropriate communication skills to be able deal with the variety of serious situations and people that they have to contact. However, overall the ongoing processing of the claim and payments and contact was really excellent and meant my recovery was not hampered by any financial stress.."

		"Originally with AXAlife, however now AMP. I did not want an automatic inflation increase & I have contacted them 4 times now & they still increased the sum insured. I am not happy. I have emailed & phoned twice doing everything they requested to no avail. I have put in writing & signed & emailed. The main problem I think is with there email system, as you get a Return Email Receipt From AMP saying Your request will be allocated to the relevant team within 24 hours and processed as per the existing service levels that apply to the request type. However nothing gets done. I received a letter today with the insurance schedule detailing an increased sum insured, which we did not want, I phoned again & complained again to Nathan S.."

		"Extemely difficult to talk to, long phone qait times, then tell you that yoyur allocated advisor will call you back....which he didn't, called again, gt email from him, and he still did not answer the question I asked. Policy costs are large compared to others. Time for me to move !."

		"I probably had this policy for longer than 7 years unsure exactly of when I started a policy with them. it has changed over the years. I no longer have this policy as I felt it was too expensive and getting more expensive each year.."

		"Everything was done via Insurance Watch, so I didn't have any issues when I went through the application process. I think it is a quite value when I compare this with my previous insurer (i.e. GE Money)."
